PDF files can contain hidden information such as author name, software used, creation/modification dates, and even GPS coordinates if the document was scanned or created from a mobile device. This tool removes ALL that data locally and privately.
PDF can store: author, title, subject, keywords, creation date, modification date, software name (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Google Docs), and custom XMP metadata.
We use Mozilla's PDF.js library to completely rewrite the PDF without including the original metadata. The process is 100% local - your files never leave your device.
When removing metadata and rewriting the PDF, digital signatures may become invalid. If your PDF contains important signatures, we recommend keeping an original copy before cleaning it.
The practical limit is 50 MB to ensure optimal performance. Larger documents may take longer to process.
You can use Adobe Acrobat (Document Properties) or free online tools to inspect metadata before and after cleaning.
